Thank you for the response Paul!

I did offer $400 and he said he would get rid of all of it for that.

Thank you!

Marineland or Perfecto aquariums are well made tanks.
Considering the tank is only a couple months old, and with the equipment and decorations included.. $475 sounds like a good price.
I'd offer $400, and see if he bites.

Good luck!

Yeah, definitely put him in a hospital tank.  10 gallons will be fine, no substrate necessary, hiding spot would be optional. No need for bright 'display' lighting, just ambient room lighting should be fine as well.
If you don't already have a seasoned filter you can put in the tank, a small sponge filter and a quick dose of an off the shelf 'quick start' bacteria you should be safe.
Best of luck!

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forum but I thought this would be a great opportunity to post something and get opinions. I found a guy near me on craigslist who is selling a 60 gallon marineland aquarium with stand and basically everything you need to get it going. Like it comes with 2 aqua clear 70's a 48" fluval aqua sky led light, heater, air pump, decorations, substrate, and everything else he had to run his tank. He said he ran it for about two months and decided it was too much for him. He is asking $475 for everything. I looked at the pricing if I were to buy everything new and it seems like a deal but I am wondering what all of you think. Is that a good deal?

And are Marineland aquariums good quality?

Thank you for any advice you can give.

Nate

African Cichlid Talk / HELP! hospital tank?
« Last post by pitbullsoldier7 on March 22, 2016, 09:03:42 pm »
So i have 10 good sized cichlids. But recently i noticed that one of my Albinos has been getting picked on alot and has been staying low to the tank and swimming away from every fish he/she sees.I bought this fish from a pet store about 1 week ago. he started out fine would eat food he did have messed up back fin from fighting when i bought him but am getting worried its been 2-3 days since i seen him eat even tried freeze dried blood worms. What should i do should i make a hospital tank and let him heal up by himself or just let him be? If i should make a hospital tank any tips i have a 5 gallon tank and 10 gallon laying around. What kind of substrate should  I use , filter, should i have hiding spots for him even tho hes alone? PLS HELP

Welcome to the forums GenX.

It's a bit slow here as most are using the FaceBook group to post questions and pictures.
But don't let that stop you from posting here, there's still a couple very knowledgeable folks here that check in from time to time.

Hello everyone,

So I recently moved and have a new African cichlid tank...well, there are currently no fish in it, but I'm getting there, lol. I've had it filled for about 2 weeks. I just received my second filter yesterday (Fluval 306 to go with my Marineland Magniflow 360...I also have a hob, mostly for the sound of running water.

I am rather new to cichlids but I grew up around aquariums as my Mom has had one for as long as I can remember. So, I'm not completely new to aquarium care and maintenance but I still have a good bit to learn. I don't know what else to say, I'm sure I'll find a good bit to read through here, so I'll get to it.

Have a great day all!

African Cichlid Talk / Filter

I'm trying my hand at making my own filter and doing away with cartridges that cost a lot once a month. I am using poly filling and bio max in a media bag. Here is a picture. Will this suffice or is there something I should do differently. Any advice is greatly appreciated. It's not letting post a picture but I am using aqueon 30 quite flow and I have the poly filter leading into the cartridge area and the bio max behind it kind of stacked half and half will this work or is there another way
