Hi All
I was once introduced to this years ago by my grampa who kept many types of tropical fish however they all died off with age and never thought of again until recently, We have a wee girl and she really likes nice colourful fish, do have a small salt water tank with Nemo in there of course, I have started my own tropical tank and currently have 1x Red Tailed Black Shark 2x Angel Fish 1x Clown Pleco and 1x Bristlenose Pleco. Would really like to add Cichlids however not to sure what would be able to mix with what I have.

My name is Ruben and I keep Discus fish and other fish too on a 75 gallon tank but I'm also interested on African cichlids. I like the KG videos on YouTube, I think is very informative, beautiful fish and giving me a lot of ideas and the way to keep those beautiful fish happy and healthy. I might either have another tank just for the Cichlids (a lot of more work) or maybe sell the fish I currently have an get into the Cichlids. What catch my attention is the colors and how active they are, apart of the rocky decorations.

I would probably remove the powerhead to check the current with 2 SunSun's. As far as placement, there's a bit of conversation on what is the 'correct' setup. Personally, I'd keep the intakes together and the outputs at the opposite or diagonal corner from the intakes. Let you returns help push debris towards your intakes. Good luck!

Hey guys! I have a 75 gallon African tank with mostly Peacocks and some Mbunas. I am currently running a single SunSun 304 B and I want to add another one for more filtration and redundancy. I like the thought of having two in the event of one failing. I've had the single one running for six months and compared to the HOB its a world of difference. My question is placement of inlet and outlets? I have 30 fish in the tank and a powerhead running. Will this be to much current? Thanks in advance for any help!

Doing 30% water changes every 2 days. Adding Nualgi each time. Cleaning gravel every other water change. Still, brown Algae on everything. I'm spending more time on this aquarium than with my kids. Between that and the gripping from my wife about the tank of brown crud in the living room, I think I'm fed up. The petco people had no clue about the catfish. They're the only petstore my town has. I thjnk it's just time to give the works away. Too bad there isn't a way to keep that brown crud from growing so fast. Thanks for all the advice, but after pouring a ton of $ and time into this thing with zero result, I'm out. Now I know why a dog is an easier pet... LOL!

Hi Starrgalen, and welcome to the forums.
I've personally not kept Discus myself, so I won't be able to provide much assistance for you. There is however a group of videos that John has done with Discus Hans that quite possibly covers most of your questions.
